Application forms are now available for the Region 3 Educational being held at the Delta Grandview Resort in Huntsville on September 25 & 26, 2010.. To access these applications as well as information regarding the courses being offered, please go to the OPSEU WEBSITE, ( http://www.opseu.org.) Once in the site, you will find this information on the left hand side of the toolbar; click on “Member Education. – Training & Development” On the screen you will find “Schedule of Regional Schools” – click on this and scroll down to Region 3. The forms can be downloaded at this point. Please ensure that you follow the instructions contained in the package for applying.

You can get the enrollment package Education Call Stewardship September 2010 You must return the registration package to the Secretary at opseu302@gmail.com or you can fax it to 905-985-0644  before 12 noon 15 July 2010.

101 –  a moral outrage

The ITUC’s Annual Survey of Trade Union Rights has documented a dramatic increase in the number of trade unionists murdered in 2009, with 101 killings – an increase of 30% over the previous year.

We cannot take our rights for granted.  We are organized, mobilized, unionized and working together for the promotion of social justice, human rights and labour rights.  We need to make sure that the rest of the world has the same rights. We should note that Canada, amongst other nations, has still not yet ratified the ILO Convention 98 on the Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining.
